The Nao Santa María has just become the first ship managed by the Nao Victoria Foundation to cross the Panama Canal to reach the Mexican Pacific coast where it will spend the next few days participating in the filming of a film that will be released next year . After filming (of which we cannot give more details) the ship will begin a route through different ports of the West Coast from the USA to Canada.
The person in charge of the project, Ángel Rosa, wanted to highlight this milestone since it will be the first time that Santa María will be the ambassador of the Spanish maritime culture along the west coast. "We are very happy to continue making history by visiting new ports and being the first museum ship managed by the Nao Victoria Foundation that will travel through different ports." This milestone is added to the one already conquered by El Galeón Andalucía, which in 2016 was the first Spanish ship to navigate the 5 great lakes of the USA and Canada.
Thus, the famous ship ended his stay in the Old San Juan of Puerto Rico, where he has been docked for almost two months and received on his decks more than 3000 "Puerto Ricans" who did not want to miss the opportunity to meet a unique ship .
